Privacy
Policy
This policy explains what information Transit uses, why, and the choices you have. It is written to meet the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Google Play and AdMob policies.
In short
- Transit has no accounts of its own and runs no servers. The developer does not receive, see or sell any personal information about you.
- Your game progress is stored on your phone.
- Ads appear only when you choose to watch one, for example for a second chance. They are served by Google AdMob, which processes some device data.
- If you sign in to Google Play Games, Google keeps your scores, achievements and a copy of your saved progress in your Google account.
- In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, you are asked for consent before any ad is requested. You can change your choice any time in Options›Ad privacy.
1 · On your device
Transit saves your progress (maps unlocked, best scores, settings such as sound, language and vibration, and an unfinished game) in files inside the app's private storage on your phone. They never leave your device unless you use Google Play Games cloud saving (section 3).
Uninstalling the app or clearing its data deletes them, and Options›Reset progress erases your progress.
2 · Ads: Google AdMob
Transit shows rewarded ads only. They appear only after you tap a button offering one. There are no banner ads and no ads that interrupt play.
The ads are provided by Google AdMob (Google Ireland Limited in the EEA and UK; Google LLC elsewhere). To serve ads, measure them and prevent fraud, Google's software may collect and process:
- your device's advertising ID (Android Advertising ID);
- device information such as model, operating system version, language and screen size;
- your IP address and the approximate location derived from it;
- ad interaction data such as views, taps and whether an ad was completed;
- app information such as the app's name and version.
Google uses this information as described in How Google uses information from apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.
Consent in the EEA, UK and Switzerland
In these regions, Transit uses Google's User Messaging Platform, a certified consent management platform, to ask for your consent before any ad is requested. You can accept, refuse, or choose purposes and ad partners one by one. If you refuse, you may still see non-personalised or limited ads when you ask to watch one. You can review or withdraw consent any time in Options›Ad privacy.
Everywhere
You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings (Settings › Privacy › Ads on most Android phones).
3 · Google Play Games
Signing in is optional. If you do, Transit uses Google Play Games for leaderboards, achievements and saving your progress to your Google account. Google then processes your Play Games profile (gamer name and avatar), your scores, achievements and saved game under the Google Privacy Policy.
You can play Transit fully without signing in, and manage or delete Play Games data in the Google Play Games app or at myaccount.google.com.
4 · Permissions
- Internet: to load ads and, if you sign in, to reach Google Play Games.
- Vibrate: for the short vibration when you select a station. Turn it off in Options›Vibration.
Transit does not ask for your location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos or files.
5 · Legal bases (GDPR)
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): personalised advertising, and storing or reading information on your device for advertising in the EEA and UK. You can withdraw consent at any time; this does not affect processing that took place before.
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): non-personalised ads, ad measurement and fraud prevention, which keep the game free.
- A service you request (Art. 6(1)(b)): saving your progress, and Play Games features when you choose to sign in.
7 · Retention
Data on your device is kept until you reset your progress, clear the app's data or uninstall it. Data processed by Google is kept according to Google's own retention policies.
8 · Children
Transit is not directed at children, and the developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us and we will help have it removed.
9 · Your rights
Under the GDPR and similar laws you have the right to:
- access, correct or erase your personal data;
- restrict or object to its processing;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time.
The developer holds no personal data about you, so most requests are handled directly by Google through the links above. We are glad to help: write to us and we will reply within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
10 · Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new effective date. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
